This week is Patient Safety Week!
Here are a few helpful tips to prevent unwanted accidents.
1) Remove trip hazards such as throw rugs.
2) Have adequate lighting in your home.
3) Install handrails if needed for showers, stairs, and walkways.
4)Make sure smoke alarms are in good working order.
5) Use assistive devices such as walkers/canes and raised toilet seats to prevent falls.

Most of all, exercise is important for maintaining balance and strength.
