Last week, Daniel Headrick, our Industrial Specialist, was invited to teach Work Conditioning at the Tennessee Valley Public Power Association Conference. The conference hosted Safety and Work Comp Managers from utility companies across Middle, West, and East Tennessee. Dan explained the benefits of Work Conditioning, how it can protect against injuries through proper preparation, and the evidence showing that Work Conditioning lessens disability and improves work ability.

Meet Ms. Paula!

She came to our Cookeville clinic with chronic spinal stenosis and acute neck pain. At the time, she couldn’t walk more than 10 minutes without needing to sit down—and even short drives of 20–30 minutes were too painful.

After 8 weeks of physical therapy, Paula is walking nearly pain-free and gearing up for a road trip with her mother!

We’re incredibly proud of her progress and thankful she trusted us with her care. We’ll miss having you in the clinic, Paula!

💪 Meet Billy!

Billy began his journey at STAR in December following a total right knee replacement. He attended prehab at STAR before having surgery, which helped set him up for success!

When Billy started physical therapy, he couldn't squat or walk without knee pain. But by the time he completed PT in January, he could perform 30 repetitions on the leg press and squat pain-free! Billy enjoyed his rehab experience at STAR so much that he joined our "Good Health 50" wellness program afterwards to continue his progress.
