Upper Cumberland RAM Clinic Provides FREE medical care through mobile clinics in underserved, isolated, or impoverished communit

Born in the Amazon rain forest, RAM is the concept of adventurer, visionary, and humanitarian Stan Brock. For many years, Stan lived and worked with the Wapishana Indians in Guyana, South America, where the closest medical services were over a month’s hike away. After he came to America to co-host the television show Wild Kingdom, he began traveling to other remote areas around the world. These experiences reinforced what he had seen and experienced in Guyana – the pain and suffering created for people by being isolated from basic medical care. In response, Stan developed a vision of a medical outreach program operated by volunteers to help people with little or no access to medical services. After years of research, planning, and volunteer recruiting, RAM was founded in 1985. Today, RAM is an all-volunteer organization comprised of pilots, doctors, nurses, dentists, veterinarians, technicians, various other health professionals, and general support personnel. The organization conducts expeditions across America and around the world, bringing basic health services to those in need.
