Cookville VFD along with Fivestar VFD and Nortex VFD had some good training last night. We would like to Thank Titus county for buying the new rescue tools and allowing Cookville to use them. We would also like to thank MPFD for providing the training we needed. Great training with multiple depts and everyone getting familiar with other departments equipment.

If the power goes out and our station still has power, we may open it as a warming station. We do not have a generator so everything will depend on the power for the building. If we open it up we will let everyone know on here. If you have any other questions call or message. Someone will respond as quick as possible. If it’s an emergency call 911!!! Try not to get out on the roads unless you have to. If you do, remember to drive slow and safe.

Expansion of the Day 1 Enhanced Risk has been added to the severe weather outlook. A complex of thunderstorms should develop over the next several hours, posing once again the threat for damaging wind and hail across the region. Tornado threat remains low at this time.

06/17/2023

Monitoring the threat for two complexes of t-storms this evening, through early Sunday AM. The first, developing west of the DFW metro. The second, developing out of Oklahoma. Both will work into the Four State Region. Damaging wind and hail will be the primary threats.

06/16/2023

New update to the Day 1 outlook has now expanded the enhanced risk further into the warning area. Hazards continue to remain the same with damaging wind and hail being the primary concern. Not ruling out the threat of an isolated tornado or two at this time.
