National Memory Care Week was such a blast! Together, we celebrated the theme “The Memories That Made Us.” First, we had an afternoon game day among residents, their families and team members. The room was filled with fun and laugher as everyone threw cheeseballs at our life enrichment director to see how many we could get to stick to the shaving cream on her head. The activities continued with toilet paper duck races and bouncing ping pong balls to see how many could be caught.

The smiles and laughter will last a lifetime! We continued celebrating with a western-themed chili bar, where our Pearls of Life® memory care residents and families gathered for a fun evening and lots of reminiscing. We can’t thank our community members enough for helping us create such special moments!

Retired U.S. Army Colonel Marilyn served 20 years in the Army Nurse Corps. Her story reflects the growing presence of women veterans in our managed communities.

Our community honored veterans in many ways throughout the beginning of November. We started the month with an amazing Veterans Day concert by the Reason for Being Opera. Together, we sang patriotic songs and honored the veterans in our community. We then gathered for a Lifelong U program alongside St. Croix Hospice complete with cake, certificates, pins, and poems for our veterans.

On Veterans Day, each of the veterans at our community had a patriotic balloon placed outside of their apartment home along with a card from the C**n Rapids VFW. It was so nice to see all the recognition to those who have served and continue to serve our country.

As we approach Veterans Day, we honor Joe and Eddie. Two Purple Heart recipients whose courage shaped history. Joe enlisted on his graduation day in 1943. Eddie volunteered to scout a minefield in Italy. Our blog shares their remarkable stories of sacrifice and the lives they built after the war.

We share the stories of two Purple Heart recipients about their WWII combat stories. Joe and Eddie call The Goodman Group managed communities home, inspiring all who meet them.

Halloween was a spooktacular blast! The day began with fun costumes from team members, families and students from Montessori Renaissance Academy, who stopped by to trick-or-treat. In the afternoon, our team members decorated their car trunks for trunk-or-treating, which was a hit among residents and their families, who visited each vehicle to chat and collect candy. So much laughter and joy were shared and we look forward to all that is to come in the next few months!

We got crafty at Autumn Glen Senior Living and made our very own flower arrangements with a fun twist. Our residents picked out a book of their choice and then turned it into a vase to show off their beautiful arrangements. Each bouquet was so unique and gorgeous!
