National Assisted Living Week was truly an “Ageless Adventure.” We gathered for a special visit from Sustainable Safari, where residents and guests had the chance to see five different animals and learn more about each one.

The highlight of the day was getting to pet four of the five animals. Sustainable Safari introduced us to an alligator, boa constrictor, porcupine, skunk and kangaroo. The smiles and excitement as everyone interacted with the animals, all but the skunk, made it a memorable adventure.

For National Assisted Living Week, this year’s theme was Ageless Adventure. Together, we celebrated with a Safari and Escape from the Jungle.

Residents completed five challenges and earned five prizes before making their grand escape in a hot-air balloon photo shoot before nightfall. Everyone made it through the jungle, sharing plenty of laughter along the way.

Together we celebrated State Fair Week with a different fair-inspired activity each day. On Thursday, to mark the kickoff of the Minnesota State Fair, we hosted our very own carnival. The weather was perfect, and everyone enjoyed outdoor games with prizes for all.

Patty from St. Croix Hospice joined us and served root beer floats to carnival attendees. Games included ring toss, ball in the bucket, pick a duck, the State Fair trivia wheel and even a State Fair themed pie walk.

Everyone went home a winner, and the day was filled with plenty of laughter and fun.
