Our free online cancer support groups offer a safe space for cancer patients and survivors to share support with others who understand, all with the guidance of an oncology social worker. Join us for our next online session on Wednesday, November 12.

The Bassett Cancer Institute is offering convenient FREE monthly cancer support groups! Anybody that has a cancer diagnosis is invited to participate.

Happy Medical Imaging Week and Radiologic Technology Week to all of our network's healthcare professionals who work in these important fields! We are so grateful for their technical expertise, caring natures, and continued dedication.

These caregivers are responsible for safely capturing X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, PET scans, bone density scans, mammograms, and other tests that are essential tools in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of health conditions. Radiation therapists administer radiation treatments to to patients with cancer and other diseases - and are part of our Oncology team

We’re pleased to share that Vanessa Trafton, FNP, has joined Bassett Healthcare Network as a Nurse Practitioner with Family Medicine at Bassett Health Center Middleburgh. Join us in welcoming her to our network!

Vanessa earned her master’s degree as a Nurse Practitioner from St. John Fisher University in Rochester, NY. She is board-certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. Vanessa provides comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages, including preventative treatment, chronic disease and acute illness management, and care coordination.

Did you know that Americans have been donating blood for over eight decades? The American Red Cross began our nation’s first blood donation program in 1941 at the request of the U.S. Armed Forces. Those first donations were sent as aid to the people of Great Britain during World War II.

You can be part of that 84-year legacy of giving life! Come give blood at our Red Cross Blood Drive at FoxCare Center on November 6.

Welcome to Bassett, Gabrielle King, FNP! We’re pleased to share that Gabrielle has joined Bassett Healthcare Network as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Emergency & Trauma Services at various network locations.

Gabrielle earned her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from SUNY Polytechnic Institute in Utica, NY. She is certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. Lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths in New York State and across the U.S. During this , we can all take steps to reduce our risk.

Cigarette smoke is the number one cause of lung cancer. If you currently smoke, resources are available to help you quit. Breathing in secondhand smoke also comes with risks. Exposure to radon gas is the second-leading cause. This odorless gas exists naturally in soil and can enter our homes.
