Happy Friday! This week was a little low key with much behind the scenes. Planting spent tulips outside of a resident's window so they can watch them come up next year; helping a resident plant their grow-in-a-jar strawberries they purchased from the ticket store; one-on-one coffee run and back road drive to break up a rainy day; excursion down dirt roads to pick up a generous donation with a couple friends (who happen to be residents) and needed ice cream stop before heading back; and a visit with a friend/resident who is currently off site, were a few of the unplanned enjoyments in the week.

Wednesday's church service was a positive reminder of the power of redemption. Wednesday afternoon bingo with Carol was full of excitement.

Our interactive walk-through video of Nashville Tennessee was an enjoyable break from a gloomy start to the day Thursday. Music appreciation with Ella Fitzgerald facts and playing her hits brightened up the day. Our afternoon Hail Mary dice game was a hit.

This morning's travelogue on Chile taught us a lot and we were excited to try both savory and sweet versions of Chilian empanadas. Friday Bingo with Jackie was a typical large turn out and lots of tickets won. This evening will end with a Friday night movie: Matilda the Musical to include popcorn and snacks, as it should ☺️

Have a blessed weekend!

Happy Tuesday! We've been hard at work today.

Our baking activity was lemon blueberry muffins. Two groups of friends enjoyed sharing the work, a few laughs in between, and a delicious treat at the end.

Deacon Tom came to offer Communion in the afternoon, but we snuck out a little early beforehand to get some fresh air and sunshine out on the back dock.

In the afternoon our memory care residents enjoyed reminiscing and exploring marbles, jacks and pick-up sticks.

Visits from family and friends are always a bonus blessing.

Yesterday's start to the day and week with Bible Time with Chaplain Jeff and afternoon Bingo are favorite traditions.

Continue to follow along as we enjoy the simple things and the gift of good friends throughout our days. Blessings!

The end to our week was just as exciting as the beginning. Live entertainment, cardio drumming, Catholic communion, games, educational snacks, poetry appreciation, of course Friday afternoon bingo with our awesome volunteer Jackie...and to end the day on Friday, a tote of goats...yes, you read that right! :0)

Grateful for our partners from St. Michael's church and Deacon Tom who offer our catholic residents an opportunity to partake in the sacraments and offer their counsel.

Lowell and Fred are all time favorite guests who offer their musical gifts and talent as well as one-one-on interactions with our residents before, during and after their sets. It is easy to see why they are a resident favorite.

Debora Spinner was awesome to come share her equipment, time and leading as we tried our hands at cardio drumming, which was a great time!

Match up grouping games, filling in the missing rhyming words as we explored poetry and even read a few of the classics, as well as learning the history of marble cake and of course sharing a slice or two with friends.

Thank you all for your continued interest and support. Have a blessed weekend!

What a fun full week...and its only Wednesday. Monday's excitement included the grand reopening of our Ticket Store. Perfectly timed, we were blessed to receive a generous donation from Family Fare! Through a fund raising they hosted, their donation will help towards keeping the store stocked, as well as offering our residents a chance to go shop there as well. Our God Cares Bible study was once again enjoyed as an encouraging start to the week. Tuesday our memory care residents were excited and engaged as we learned about insects. Cool, fun, weird and even gross facts, as well as specimens to investigate closer, offered us new things to share and learn. Our snack of the day was a popcorn bar with favorite toppings. My Fair Lady was enjoyed as a rescheduled activity from last month, even more so on the big screen. The evening included a quick pop in visit with a baby goat...because what else makes a day even better?? ;) This morning we were blessed to have Dick Van Dop from Coopersville Reformed Church lead our church service. After, we were excited to show appreciation to our local pastors who offer their time and commitment to our residents each week by hosting a pastor appreciation event. To round out the mid-week hump, Wednesday afternoon bingo was a blast as usual.

Our Good Friday was a Good Friday in deed. We started off the morning with an Easter Hymn sing, poignant short video, and prayer. Afternoon bingo and a fun end to the night enjoying Peter Rabbit with pop corn and soda. Loving our new projector and the fun possibilities it provides. God bless you all! And praise Him, Sunday is coming!

Grateful for friendships and things to do on the rainy days. Our Monday mornings with Chaplain Jeff are a great way to start our week. Tuesday morning visits from Deacon Tom for communion are welcome. A service led by Pastor Lloyd Hemstreet Wednesday morning brought more reminders of Holy week. A game of horse racing, traditional afternoon Bingo, baking with friends and serious work on some Easter crafts kept our hearts and hands full and busy. This morning we were even blessed with a sweet little treat from Circle of Friends. They say it takes a village and it is easy to say, we truly appreciate all of ours.

Happy Friday!!! What a great week at Fountain View Assisted Living. We have enjoyed so many different activities together and the continued sharing of life and laughter through it all.

Our new video series Bible study (God Cares Ministry) has been a big hit and a bigger blessing; Wednesday's church service was led by one of our own residents; spring was in the air and called for some crafting; chair yoga with follow up chair dancing got us moving with purpose; we had the joy of celebrating a couple birthdays; a game of tic-tac-roll brought out our competitive sides; baking brought us together; and a tea/coffee social hour where we answered 20 questions about our twenties let us get to know each other better and even share some life advice.

In other news we have enjoyed some updates to our Life Enrichment office (which now offers a warm comforting space for residents and volunteers alike to spend some time and share their thoughts) and ticket store. The ticket store has been an enjoyable commodity for the residents over the years. As with all things, change comes with time and a much-needed facelift and restructuring is an excited welcome as we seek to open up shop on April 6.

Thanks for following along and sharing our moments with us!
