It is with our deepest respect and heartfelt gratitude, that we honor the life and legacy of George Wischerth. George would have celebrated his 99th birthday this June, but instead, we now celebrate a life of unwavering dedication, compassion, and service.

George began his distinguished career in public service as a Nassau County Police Officer in 1955, rising to the rank of Detective in 1962 before retiring in 1987. His dedication to serving others did not end there. In 1962, he became a pallbearer, and by 1971, he had become our beloved funeral director, a role in which he served with compassion and professionalism for over six decades. His presence became a cornerstone of our industry, and community, offering guidance and comfort to families during their most difficult moments and beyond.

Known for his signature white hair, impeccable suits, and distinguished presence, George was a gentleman in every sense. His warmth, kindness, and unwavering commitment to the families he has served has made him an irreplaceable part of our community. His name will forever be synonymous with D’Andrea Bros., a legacy of service that will endure for generations.

Now, George is reunited with his beloved wife and love of his life, Bernice, whom he married in 1946 and shared 65 beautiful years with until her passing in 2013. We take comfort in knowing that as he transitions, he is welcomed with open arms by not only Bernice, but the countless friends and families he so graciously and purely cared for over the years.

George, you will be forever missed and never forgotten. Your light will continue to shine down on all of us, guiding us just as you always have.

Rest in eternal peace, dear friend. Your legacy will live on, endlessly.

Family and friends are welcome to visit George on
Tuesday, February 18th

Ho ho ho! The real Santa Claus is sleighing his merry way to "our porch"! However, we've heard that the sleigh might be in the workshop, with the elves diligently preparing it for the big global journey ahead. No need to fret; the Copiague Fire Department is on the case and will ensure he arrives by 5 PM on Friday, December 13th..
