If only you could smell these beauties! We are already on week two of Summer subscriptions. That means only four weeks left until our fall subscription begins with the grand finale of all flowers. Personally, I wait all winter for ranunculus in the spring, and then all season for the dahlias to bloom in the fall. It won’t be long until our summer subscribers get a taste of the dahlias too.

We still have a few spots left to become a fall subscription member at either Ocelot Café & bakery or Brighton Brewing. Don’t miss out!

Is it seriously July already?! A good friend once told me that as you get older you feel like time goes quicker because it’s a smaller segment compared to the time you’ve been alive. I’m beginning to think that’s true. Especially when spending time with my boys and they think waiting a few hours for something special is FOREVER and you’ll miss out on too much if you nap for an hour.

I will say though when we went camping last week the days were so much longer and rewarding unplugged. 📱 and everyone napped at the same time — it’s a Christmas in July miracle!

By the way, the stand is stocked today with $15 arrangements and summer subscriptions begin the week of the 14th!

Tornado sirens, headlamps and flowers, oh my!

It was an eventful evening arranging our first ever bridal bouquet and boutonnière for the sweetest Bride and Groom last night. Around here with three boys under 6, most of the action happens after bedtime. Soon after I began, the power went out and the tornado sirens went off. Out came the camping lantern and headlamp to finish the job. I’m proud of myself for not being stressed, but I know it was solely because we had the perfect Bride for our first gig.

This the first year growing campanula and boy are the pretty! It’s been nice having them around to bridge the June flower gap in field grown flowers .

Peep that little pollinator keeping me company last night as I harvested. Of course as beekeepers that’s not actually a baby bumble bee, but after singing the song on repeat a few years ago it was the first thing that came to mind.

While we are in the break between spring and summer subscriptions you’ll be able to find flowers at our stand on summit rd, just down the street from the Barn at Wolfcreek near Jacoby! We also have honey stocked daily. Fresh spring honey will be pulled soon, so follow us on Facebook and Instagram to get your jar straight from the hive!

We caught our first swarm of the season this week. While it’s not the most ideal situation to have your hive swarm —(Essentially half your bees and the queen leave to find a new home, leaving half the hive to raise a new 👑🐝 and hope she doesn’t get eaten by a 🐦‍⬛on her mating flight) — it sure is fun to catch them! So many hives! We are grateful after so much loss in the beekeeping community this year. Even after finding a new home for one hive, we are up to 7…8? I’ll have to ask Mike 🤣 Moral of the story? Honey, honey, honeyyyy 🎶
