Coppell Pediatrics

Coppell Pediatrics "Come, Grow with us!" Our goal is to offer your child the highest standard of pediatric care. Do not assume that everyone knows everything they need to.

The practice of medicine is constantly changing, and the cornerstone of good medical care is mutual understanding, respect and trust between physician, patient and parent. We’re committed to your child’s health and helping your child stay that way, but you’re a key player in making that happen. Here are suggestions from the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality that all patients should follow:

Speak up if you have questions or concerns. You have a right to question anyone who is involved with your child’s care. Make sure that someone such as your primary care doctor is in charge of your child’s care. This is especially important if your child has many health problems or is in the hospital. Make sure that all health professionals involved in your child’s care have important health information about him/her. If you child has a test, don’t assume that no news is good news. Ask about the results. Learn about your child’s condition and treatments by asking your doctor. The physician-parent-patient relationships are unique, confidential and sacred, and we strive to uphold this commitment.

Peer pressure can quietly affect a child’s confidence, behavior, and emotional well-being. Even children who seem “okay” may be struggling inside. Supportive conversations can make a big difference.

💡 Here’s what parents can do:
• Listen without judgment when your child shares
• Validate their feelings instead of minimizing them
• Help them practice saying “no” confidently
• Stay connected with changes in mood or behavior
• If concerns continue, come see us so we can support your child with professional guidance

Visit 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 today, where we support children’s emotional well-being, provide behavioral guidance, offer developmental check-ins, and partner with parents through compassionate pediatric care. 💙

𝐌𝐘𝐓𝐇 𝐕𝐒. 𝐅𝐀𝐂𝐓: 𝐒𝐥𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 → 𝐂𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐝 𝐒𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬

MYTH (Common Parent Mistake): “If I keep my child up later, they’ll be more tired and sleep better.”
FACT: Overtired children often sleep worse, not better. Sleep disturbances usually need routines and strategies tailored to your child’s age, habits, and health.

💡 Here’s what parents can do:
• Keep consistent bedtimes and wake-up times
• Create a calm bedtime routine (bath, book, quiet time)
• Limit screens before bed
• Watch for signs of overtiredness
• If sleep problems continue, come see us so we can create a plan that fits your child’s needs

Visit 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐏𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 today, where we support families with sleep assessments, personalized routines, developmental guidance, wellness visits, and compassionate pediatric care to help your child rest better and grow healthier. 💙
