**Remote Herbal Medicine Consults remain unchanged and are still available to clients located in California, Michigan, and Florida.
**Herbal Medication Prescription is still available for all Patients with a valid Veterinary Client Patient Relationship (VCPR) which is defined as having been seen in-person or via video-chat within the last 12 months (since April 2025).
**In-Person Mentorship/Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist hours for Veterinarians who have graduated from a CVA course still available for up to 40 hours at student's place of business only. Willing to travel out of state.
**Free TCVM Phone Consultation for DVMs looking for assistance on their acupuncture and herbal cases.

Did you know that we are not the only species to use plants as medicine? Here is the original study published in Nature of "Rakus" the Orangutan in Sumatra who observers noted using Fibraurea tinctoria leaves topically to treat his facial wound. This is not a commonly eaten plant species by Orangutans and subsequent studies have found it to contain alkaloids that have anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, and analgesic components. Observers followed and documented the entire healing process and this wound healed quickly with no infection. Pretty cool!

One of the most common questions I receive is: "What do I need for our first appointment?"
For horses: A clean, well-lit, quiet set of crossties where the horse will be comfortable and free of distractions.
For dog home visit (not featured on video): A quiet comfortable area free from other animals where they will be happy and relaxed.

One of the most entertaining and informative parts of a Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medical Exam is determining what Taoist 5-Element personality type of your pet (and you, and me, and the neighbor etc...) This is not just a frivolous game but actually helpful information that directs the amount and type of acupuncture therapy, herbal therapy, food therapy, and barn (or home) management.

Hey Doc, What does "Del Dios" mean?
The name "Del Dios" is shortened from Campo del Dios or "Countryside from God". When my practice first started in San Diego, even native San Diegans were not necessarily familiar with the tiny village of Del Dios, an artist community of eccentric cottages nestled next to Lake Hodges between busy Escondido and luxurious Rancho Santa Fe. I fell in love with this little hamlet and was blessed to live and practice there from 2016-2023. My location has changed to the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, but the name of my practice remains as a reminder to keep God first every step of the way. Much gratitude to you my clients, colleagues, and friends for bearing witness to this journey. If you are ever in North County San Diego... drive by Lake Hodges and you'll see exactly why the place earned its name.
