The recent events have kept us all upset. But the magic of the mountain people began to come out with the banjo, guitar,fiddles. You would hear the old hymns tunes. I felt the love in that beautiful music. I think music is our super power.

My hometown friend Kara Lee Anderson is known for rescuing dogs. I became aware that dachshund can injure their backs. I started trying to stop him from jumping bought a ramp. Well he took one flying leap this week and it was over. I was really overwhelmed. So I ask Kara what should I do. She immediately began educating me about the special care for a dog with spinal injuries. Today we got the back brace and support splint. It made a huge difference in his being able to move. Thursday our wheelchair will arrive. Hercules wants to be near me at all times. I was afraid he would fall off the bed. Kara came up with a plan that works. It means a lot as we start on this scary journey together. It means even more that Kara didn’t mind helping me get started. When I got home tonight we had our night time snack. Herc was able to make sure he got his snack. He was glad to have snuggle time. Glad to have someone to point me in the right direction. Things are a mess here in Georgia Tennessee and North Carolina. We don’t have cell service everywhere in the mountains. Now some people have no means of reaching out for help. Many people are trying to hold on. Kara reminded me that country folks stand together.
