📱 For parents of infants and toddlers, screens happen — on long flights, rainy days, or those moments when everyone just needs a break. But according to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), there's a big difference in how those screens are used:

❌ Consuming: Passive scrolling alone under age 2 is linked to developmental delays.

✅ Connecting: Video-chatting with family or watching a story together supports social-emotional growth.

⚕️ In general, the AAP recommends avoiding screen time, except for live video chatting, before the age of 2 years.

The Goal ➡️ Prioritize people over programs, turning any screen time into together time.

👶🏼👂🏼 KIDZ Medical's First Sounds newborn hearing screening program tests your infant for early signs of hearing loss, because the first few months of your baby’s life are crucial for hearing and language development, and early intervention is key.

🏥 As part of our First Sounds program, 20+ KIDZ Medical newborn hearing screening technicians screened more than 16,000 babies last year at our hospital partner locations. Hospitals in Florida are required by law to make these screenings available to all newborns.
