If you’ve never used a retinoid before - start here 🫶.
This is the ingredient I recommend more than anything else in my practice. Collagen. Skin quality. Acne. Aging. Retinoids do it all.
But here’s why most people fail: they go too hard, too fast - and quit before the magic happens.
So let me make it simple.
Pea-sized amount. That’s it. For your whole face.
Start 1–2 nights a week. That’s it. Build from there weekly.
Sensitive or perimenopausal skin? Sandwich it. Moisturizer → retinoid → moisturizer. (You’re welcome.)
And stronger is NOT always better. (I cannot say this enough.)
The prescription that wrecks your skin barrier every night is NOT beating the gentle OTC you actually stick with. If you can tolerate prescription strength, then do that, but not everyone can (including me).
Consistency > potency. Every time. No exceptions.
Now the part nobody wants to hear: it takes 8–12 weeks to see real results. The people who quit at week 4 never get to see what week 12 looks like.
