The Fetal Institute Foundation was founded by Dr. Eftichia Kontopoulos and Dr. Ruben Quintero, two internationally recognized pioneers in fetal therapy and the physicians behind The Fetal Institute. Their vision, scientific leadership, and groundbreaking contributions to fetal medicine are the driving force behind the Foundation’s mission.

As leaders in the field, Dr. Kontopoulos and Dr. Quintero have developed and performed some of the world’s first and most advanced in-utero procedures, offering life-saving options for conditions such as Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), congenital tumors, open spina bifida, and other complex fetal anomalies. This month, we honor the lives we’ve lost, and the ones we fight to save.

At The Fetal Institute, our specialists are pioneers in fetal medicine and surgery, helping families around the world find answers and hope when it matters most.

Conditions such as Twin-to-Twin Transfusion Syndrome (TTTS), Lower Urinary Tract Obstruction (LUTO) and Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) can be life-threatening, but with early diagnosis and specialized care, survival is possible.
