The Fetal Institute provides patients with the latest and most advanced resources in the field of Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Fetal Therapy. Fundamental to the philosophy of the Institute, all diagnostic and therapeutic options are performed using either a non-invasive or a minimally invasive approach, which results in better pregnancy outcomes. The Fetal Institute was founded by Dr. Ruben Quinter

o and Dr. Eftichia Kontopoulos, who have a long history of successfully treating babies in need of in-utero intervention. The Fetal Institute serves as a resource to all Obstetricians and Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists. The Fetal Institute is a National and International referral center for the assessment and management of complicated pregnancies. Dr Ruben Quintero is a world-known fetal surgeon, who has pioneered several life- saving fetal surgical techniques. Amongst others, he proposed the Quintero Staging system for the classification of twin twin transfusion syndrome (TTTS) and he pioneered the selective laser surgery for the treatment of TTTS. Dr. Kontopoulos has performed hundreds of life-saving fetal surgeries, including the first fetoscopic removal of an oral teratoma and fetal bronchoscopy. Both Dr. Quintero and Dr. Kontopoulos are known for their compassionate care and respect for their patients.

TTTS is a serious condition affecting pregnancies with monochorionic twins. Thanks to advancements in fetal surgery, many lives have been saved. With over 25 years of experience, The Fetal Institute continues to offer hope to families worldwide.

Giving Tuesday is a global movement of generosity and a celebration of solidarity and gratitude through giving back.
