Today, we’re spotlighting Daniel D., Emergency Department RN at Homestead Hospital. See why he is motivated to provide exceptional care and be part of the Baptist Health team.

"From transporter to nurse, my journey at Baptist has been one of growth, perseverance, and the support of an incredible team. I’ve proudly been part of the Baptist family for 16 years. I began my career as a transporter and eventually worked my way into BOS as a float pool tech. Along the way, many colleagues encouraged me and often told me they believed I was destined to become a nurse.
During the pandemic, I decided to transition to Homestead Hospital, where I gained invaluable experience, strengthened my clinical knowledge, and learned how to truly work under pressure. The fast-paced environment pushed me to grow, and the continued encouragement from my coworkers helped me realize that nursing was more than just a goal. It was my calling. Although I was initially nervous about returning to school, I made it my mission to prove to myself, my family, and my extended Baptist “Pineapple Family” that they were right about me.
Today, I’m proud to serve our community as a nurse and grateful for the incredible team, both day and night shift, who supported me throughout this journey." - Daniel D., Registered Nurse

Today, we’re spotlighting Christian, RN at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Read below as he shares what motivates him to work at Baptist Health!

"As an ER nurse at West Kendall Baptist Hospital, I can truly say this place feels like home. The environment here is not only fast-paced and challenging, which keeps me growing professionally every day but also deeply supportive and team oriented. Our leadership genuinely cares about both patients and staff, and that makes a huge difference in how we deliver care.

What I love most is the sense of community. Everyone, from the physicians to the techs, works together with compassion and purpose. We’re more than just coworkers, we’re a family. When you're facing high stress situations, that kind of teamwork and trust means everything.

At West Kendall, I know I’m making a difference in people’s lives, and I get to do it alongside some of the most dedicated, skilled, and kind hearted professionals I’ve ever met. That’s why I’m proud to be part of this hospital and proud to wear this badge every day." - Christian, Registered Nurse

Today, we’re spotlighting Lauren, RN at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Read below as she shares what motivates her to work at Baptist Health.

"Being a nurse at West Kendall Baptist has been very rewarding. Baptist Health was my first nursing job right out of nursing school. From starting the New Grad Residency Program, that Baptist offered me, I have now been working in the Emergency Room for a little over 3 years. Baptist Health has given me many opportunities to learn and grow as a nurse with their different programs and commitment. From my managers and clinical educators who are always by my side mentoring me, to my co-workers whom I work besides for long hard hours, I can call Baptist Health my second home. I am truly blessed for an amazing team that I get to work alongside every shift." - Lauren, RN

Today, we’re spotlighting Ruth D., RN at West Kendall Baptist Hospital. Take a moment to read what inspires her to be part of the Baptist Health team.

"My journey at West Kendall Baptist Hospital began nearly five years ago, and since then I have been proud to call it my home and my family. Throughout this time, I have been given incredible opportunities to grow as a nurse, serving as a resource nurse to my team, developing leadership skills, and being part of the B.E.S.T RN team. With the encouragement and support of my leaders, I was also able to obtain my Certified Emergency Nurse certification, a milestone that has strengthened my practice. But most importantly, I have had the privilege of caring for my patients at the bedside, always striving to give them the very best while feeling consistently supported by my leaders and my hospital community." - Ruth D., RN, BSN, CEN

The Best Place To Be Your Best.

That’s our challenge to people who take pride in what they do and want ongoing opportunities to do it better.

Baptist Health South Florida is a community of people who care for one another, and who help each other excel so that everyone achieves his or her personal best. But what is it that makes Baptist Health South Florida so distinctive and unique among other healthcare organizations? Quite simply, it’s our commitment to putting quality first in everything we do. At Baptist Health, we work together to create a level of quality that could only be accomplished with a dedicated, collaborative team.

We are once again one of the 2018 Fortune 100 Best Companies to Work For. This is the 18th time Baptist Health has been named to the prestigious list and is the only healthcare provider in the state to be ranked. This recognition is based on employee ratings of their workplace culture, including the level of trust they feel towards leaders, the pride they take in their jobs and the camaraderie they experience with co-workers.
