This time of year can be stressful and overwhelming. Although you may be busy, it is still possible to take a couple of moments throughout the day to focus on your breathing or take a mental break. Visualize yourself at your favorite vacation spot for a few minutes. Breathe in calm... Breathe out tension 😌☺️

According to research, a gratitude practice of once a week increases your happiness 25%, makes you more optimistic about the future, makes you feel better about your life, and increases your motivation to exercise.

Here are some options 🤗
1. G.L.A.D. Technique
G - Find one thing you are Grateful for today
L - Find one new thing you Learned today
A – Find one Accomplishment you had today
D – Find one thing of Delight that you enjoyed today

2. Using a gratitude journal… Write 1-3 things that you were grateful for today.

3. Write down one thing you were grateful for in the past week. Then tell the story behind the gratitude to another person.

☀️Welcome to my page! ☀️My name is Eileen. I’m a Licensed Mental Health Counselor that’s been working as a Therapist for 23 years. I was born and raised in Miami and have worked in many settings throughout the community. I work with both children & adults. I’m bilingual speaking Spanish & English. Although I was trained in traditional Psychotherapy, I also offer Clinical Hypnotherapy & EMDR. As part of therapy, I teach mindfulness techniques, breathing exercises, and incorporate sound healing. I am a Qualified Supervisor for interns working towards licensure in Florida. I founded and run a women’s group called FEM that focuses on empowerment & codependency healing. 💕

✨SELF-CARE✨ Self-care means prioritizing an activity that focuses on our emotional, mental, or physical wellbeing. Self-care activities can be planned in advance like a beach day, bike ride, workout, therapy session, or massage. For consistent self-care I also recommend incorporating short mental breaks throughout the day. These moments help us disconnect, recharge our minds, and ground our emotions. Some of my favorite “mini-breaks” are: dancing, deep-breathing, short walks, listening to music, journaling, and playing with my pups. Making time to decompress is essential in reducing stress. Take time to take care of YOU 💜

Making decisions that are based on your individual belief-system. Growing from the inside out. Loving yourself is not about competition or comparison. It is taking time to build your self-identity, while always caring for your mind, body, and soul. Self-love is empowering and creates motivation in propelling you forward.
