The team is activated during large-scale disasters affecting the Miami Area as well as being a resource for other agencies. The Canes Emergency Response Team is a student-led team of trained and motivated students. The team trains routinely in triage, search and rescue, first aid, disaster preparedness, and more. The team deploys to disasters that affect the University of Miami and surrounding Mia

mi area. Within our CERT program we have a Cert Outreach. The Community Outreach Committee (COC) drives in expanding community involvement and enrichment through a variety of events, fundraisers and awareness projects. Outreach is also involved in creating programs for our members in line with our training, medical interests. If you are from the community and are interested in creating an event with CERT, please e-mail us at outreach@umcert.com. If you are a CERT member, come to the Community Outreach Committee Meetings to voice your ideas! Meetings are held on the on Mondays at 9pm when there is no general meeting
