My two favorite makeup removers and why:

Farm House Fresh: Make it Melt Cleansing Balm ( goes on thick and melts into a oil but when you add water and use circular motion it becomes a foamy milky liquid) I can’t explain how much I love this product. Its suitable for all skin types and travels well. Literally Melts everything away leaving skin soft and smooth.

Eminence Organics: Stone Crop Oil Cleanser is liquid gold in a bottle. Perfect to pre cleans for mature, dehydrated, sensitive or sun exposed skin that needs a good cleaning without irritation. Suitable for all skin types even oily ones due to the fact that oil attracts oil and won’t make you oilier although I would add that I do use the stone crop gel cleanser as a second cleanse because I like my skin to feel squeaky clean, then I apply my C and E Rose Hip Oil Serum.

Have to add they both smell delicious are non toxic, eco friendly and never tested on animals 🙏🏼

PLEASE READ: Facial treatments can be done right before you visit your injector… BUT you must wait a certain amount of time before you can have a facial treatment after injectables.

It’s disappointing for the client and for the esthetician when we have to turn a client away just before we begin the treatment because they just had an injectable. It’s time and financial loss for both client and therapist at a minimum. If the client isn’t clear about the time the injectable was done, it could be dissolved or there could be a migration of solution.

Please ask your injector when it’s safe to resume with your skincare treatments. It’s safe to say that two weeks after any injectable ( Neurotoxin Botox or Filler etc ) is standard however always ask your injector when you can resume your facial treatments because there may be different recommendations by physicians/practitioners. XOJ

Maria is a dual licensed 1990 graduate of the prestigious Escolar De Dermatologia in Lisbon Portugal. Throughout her career, she has worked at recognized Spas and Dermatology Offices throughout the world. Maria worked over 10 years alongside Dr. Sidonio Monteiro in Cape Verde Island, Africa, continuing her trek to the US she then worked 6 years at The Geraluz Alternative Medicine & Skin Clinic then joined the world-recognized Steiner Group providing 16 years of service at the Elemis Spa Merrick Park where she planned on living out her career. Unfortunately, that dream would come to an end in 2019 when Steiner Group announced they would be shutting down all non-criuse Elemis Spas. Medical vs Professional Skincare Grade and what is the difference?

There has been a lot of confusion lately about the different levels of skincare grade formulas. I hope to shed some light on the differences.

Medical grade (anything that can cause a physical change or cure, usually requiring a prescription depending on the country. In the US a Medical Doctor with a DEA # is required to prescribe. )

Professional grade: (what we offer at Skintique) contains actives that could pe*****te the top layer of the epidermis (requires a licensed professional to purchase, administer and recommend/retail, typically a licensed skincare professional, nurse, etc) Laws can differ state to state. If used incorrectly can cause epidermal damage.
Following the recommended guidelines is required.

Cosmetic grade: will not pe*****te the epidermis and won’t cause a physical improvement however won’t typically cause damage or injury to the epidermis if used as directed. Can be purchased, recommended and sold by anyone and can be picked up off the store shelves or online.

There are many products being promoted, even sold under the guise of being “medical grade and this is false. Medical grade products including medical devises can only be bought with a prescription or through a licensed provider. Please do not fall for that trick.

At Skintique we offer Professional and OTC products that will improve and maintain your in office treatments.
