Many people worldwide suffer from sleep issues. In America alone, it's estimated that 50-70 million people struggle with this problem.

Researchers in Brazil recently published a small observational, longitudinal, prospective study of individuals 18 and over with insomnia treated homeopathically with 6 months of follow-up in the public healthcare service of Guarulhos, São Paulo.

Their findings?
"Homeopathic treatment significantly improved sleep quality and reduced stress, anxiety, and depression."

Vitamin B12 deficiency is often framed as a niche nutritional issue, yet population-scale data suggest its clinical burden may be far larger, and rising.

A 2026 analysis (doi: 10.3389/fnut.2025.1701661) of Brazil’s national health system examined 84 million vitamin B12 laboratory tests collected between 2016 and 2023, linking results with hospitalization records. Over this period, B12-related hospitalizations increased by 32%, spanning neurological, cardiovascular, psychiatric, hematologic, and gastrointestinal conditions, indicating a growing, multisystem healthcare burden despite widespread testing.

Why this matters beyond Brazil: In the U.S. and other high-income countries, average vitamin B12 intake often sits near minimum requirements, particularly among older adults, individuals with impaired absorption, and those using common medications (e.g., metformin, proton pump inhibitors). Supporting evidence from neuroimaging and biomarker studies (PMID: 39927551) shows that functional neurological changes can emerge even when serum B12 levels fall within currently defined “normal” ranges, suggesting that delayed or threshold-based diagnosis may miss clinically meaningful insufficiency.

The Brazilian data likely reflect a broader pattern (not a country-specific anomaly) where vitamin B12 deficiency is detected after downstream complications develop, rather than during earlier, preventable stages.

Limitations: The hospitalization data are specific to Brazil and observational in nature. Hospital records capture severe outcomes and may underestimate subclinical disease. However, the scale and consistency of the signal suggest a probable gap between laboratory sufficiency and functional health protection.

Together, these findings support rethinking vitamin B12 adequacy as a public health issue of early detection and prevention, rather than one defined solely by anemia or late-stage clinical presentation.

If you love homeopathy and at least partially rely on it for your healthcare, your help is needed TODAY. This is NOT a drill.

Major legislation has now been drafted by Americans for Homeopathy Choice - Action (Paola Brown's wonderful group) to protect your access to homeopathy. A Homeopathy Medicine PAC has been created to support the many legislators who support this bill in Congress.

Here's where you come in. We need to show these legislators we appreciate what they are doing. To do that, we need you to make a donation to the PAC of whatever you can afford up to the legal limit. And we need it by the end of the year. It's that important!

100% of the dollars raised go directly to political action. Not one dollar will go to overhead or salaries. Everyone working on the project is a volunteer.

One Medicine for One Health

Written by our ECH team, this new article highlights the vital role of Integrative Medicine (IM)—where conventional and complementary practices like homeopathy, acupuncture, and lifestyle medicine come together to improve patient outcomes.
This is an invitation to reflect and raise awareness. This is about broadening perspectives, honoring patient preferences, and recognising the science and clinical experience behind collaborative care.

Now live on our ECH website, this piece is part of a growing collection of resources showing how homeopathy can contribute meaningfully to modern, evidence-informed healthcare. It’s the result of dedicated efforts by ECH members across human, veterinary, and environmental health fields.

Homeopathy is a 200-year-old system of medicine, used by nearly 250 thousand physicians and over 500 million people worldwide making it one of the most popular forms of integrative medicine.

In fact, homeopathy is an important part of the healthcare systems of many major industrialized nations – including most of Western Europe. What’s more, there are at least 70 hospitals in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Sweden, Italy, Spain and the U.K. actively integrating homeopathy into patient care. Homeopathy is also actively practiced by physicians in 40 out of 42 European nations. There are also hundreds of hospitals in south Asia – India in particular - that integrate homeopathy into patient care.

It should be noted that in all comparative effectiveness studies of homeopathy, its integration into health care resulted in better outcomes for patients with improved safety. Those that included cost-effectiveness analysis showed no additional cost or reduced costs.

A recent economic analysis of the French healthcare system (ranked #1 in the world by the World Health Organization) produced data that examined three types of cost: consultation, prescription and total costs. Overall health expenditure was 20% less for patients consulting homeopathic family physicians in France compared to conventional family physicians. Homeopathic physicians prescribed far fewer potentially hazardous drugs including psychotropics, antibiotics and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.

Going on vacation? Dr. Samet suggests you carry a number of remedies with you. Here are the first three:

Arnica:
The preeminent remedy for injuries, falls, bruises, strains, and sprains… no remedy kit should be without this one! Depending on the severity of the injury, one dose 1-5 times a day, for a day or two, should usually be enough to get most people up and running again. You can also find it in a cream for topical use; use both if you can. We have a terrific one WHP Be gone™

Apis:
This is the first remedy to think of for stings or bites—whether it be wasp, bee, mosquito, black fly, red ants, etc. If the area is red, hot, and itchy (and feels better from cold), Apis is the one for you. Apis is one of those remedies you will want to think of when going on a hike or sitting around a campfire in the evening when the bugs come out, if you are the one they love to bite. One or two doses after the bites are usually enough to get the itching and burning feeling better.

Arsenicum Album:
Especially when you’re away from home, an upset stomach can ruin the day. Whether it be from bad food, anxiety, or something else, Arsenicum is most often the one likely to help, especially since it is impractical to carry 10 diarrhea remedies on vacation! If the diarrhea is relatively mild, 1-3 doses in the first 12 hours should help enormously if it’s the right remedy (if it’s the “wrong” remedy, nothing bad will happen, there just won’t be much improvement!) Make sure to hydrate!

In homeopathy, we do not treat the disease—we treat the person who has the disease. Two patients may both complain of knee pain, but their remedies could be entirely different. One may feel burning pain worse from heat (Sulphur), while another may feel stiffness relieved by motion (Rhus tox). Their sensations, modalities, and overall constitution guide us to the correct remedy.

So what happens when individualization is ignored?
Well, the patient may still receive a homeopathic remedy—perhaps even a well-known one—but it simply doesn’t act. The pain persists, nothing changes, and soon enough, it’s the “homeopathic medicine” that gets blamed.

"I tried homeopathy… it didn’t work."
But did the right remedy get chosen?

Without matching the peculiar symptoms and constitution of the person, the remedy becomes a generic guess, not a healing force.

Homeopathy is not one-size-fits-all. Even in something as seemingly mechanical as joint pain, a remedy must fit the totality—how the pain feels, when it comes, what makes it better or worse, and who the patient is.

I’m calling to ask you to support the bill that protects health freedom in our state. This bill ensures that Floridians cannot be forced to take vaccines, wear masks, or undergo testing in order to work, attend school, or participate in public life. It respects personal health choices, preserves informed consent, and maintains transparency by keeping the legal definition of mRNA vaccines clear.
Please stand with us in protecting medical freedom and individual rights in Florida. Thank you.
