Grateful to be at American College of Physicians (ACP) headquarters in Philadelphia for our summer Board of Regents meeting—an incredible group of accomplished, dedicated colleagues.

It’s always energizing to connect with leaders like Dr. Rebecca Andrews, Chair of the Board, and Dr. Michael Tan, our Treasurer, as we work together to strengthen internal medicine and advocate for primary care.

Wrapped up the day with a wonderful dinner at Bloomsday Café with our Executive Committee—great friends, great food, and meaningful conversations.

Proud to help lead the way forward for our patients and our profession. And extra thankful to share these moments with my partner Sara Lee Rocha Borges Realtor —grateful to have her by my side.

"Experts warn RFK Jr. is unraveling the system that kept vaccines safe."

In this article, I shared concerns about the mixed messaging coming from leadership — “statements that seem apparently contradictory in trying to promote public health and welfare yet undercut one of our very basic and foundational tools for prevention of disease.”

This conversation goes far beyond politics — it’s about the integrity of public health infrastructure and the long-standing systems that protect our patients.

I was recently quoted in The Washington Post in an article titled:
"The plan to vaccinate all Americans, despite RFK Jr."

In it, I reflect on the risks of undermining trusted institutions and how, without transparent, science-based guidance, “we will need to look elsewhere for reliable information guided by the best-available evidence to guide the use of vaccines.”

At the AMA Annual Meeting, I delivered testimony in strong support of a resolution urging the AMA to call on Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. to reverse the dismissal of all 17 members of the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP).

This unprecedented action threatens evidence-based decision-making, undermines public trust in vaccines, and endangers the health and safety of our patients. I'm proud to represent ACP in advocating for transparency, accountability, and science-based policy. 💬🛡️
