To celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month, we’d like to recognize a Hispanic Heritage Award honoree who is at rest in Las Mercedes Memorial Park: Sor Maria Isolina Ferré! 💒 As a Catholic Missionary Sister, Sor Isolina brought her gift of service to many places, including Puerto Rico, Philadelphia, New York City, and Chicago – and now, we bring her story to you.

We would like to honor the life of Father Ronald G. Perkins, who departed this life on Sunday, June 22, 2025, while vacationing in Alaska. Father Ron faithfully served as chaplain for the Coral Springs and Parkland Fire Department and as a Clergyman at Coral Springs Funeral Home, where he ministered to grieving families with compassion and grace.

Through his words and presence, he offered hope to the hopeless and comfort to those walking through their most difficult moments. We are deeply saddened by his passing and extend our heartfelt prayers for strength and peace to his family during this time of loss. Father Ron’s legacy of faith, service, and kindness will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. We especially lift his loving family in prayer his devoted wife, Karen Unger; his son, Matthew Unger, and daughter-in-law, Courtney Turley Unger; and his cherished grandchildren, Essi (14) and Ezra (11). We also remember his brothers Sherman (Nancy), Mike (Donna), Patrick (Candy), Kevin; his sister Tina (Patrick Dunn); his sister-in-law Debbie (Roy Gonzales); his brother-in-law David Durkop (Robin); and his many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

May God surround them with comfort, strength, and peace during this season of grief. May they feel the embrace of their community and find hope in the promise of eternal life, knowing that Father Ron’s faith and legacy will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched. Today, we not only mourn his passing but also celebrate his life and the countless hearts he inspired through his ministry, compassion, and unwavering faith.

A message from our Funeral Home Manager Clarencia Ingram: Today, we pause to remember and honor the lives lost on September 11, 2001. This tragic and senseless attack against the United States is one we will never forget. Like so many Americans, I can still recall exactly where I was on that heartbreaking morning.

We pay special tribute to CeeCee Ross Lyles, a courageous flight attendant on Flight 93 and a proud native of my hometown, Fort Pierce, FL. We honor her bravery, along with the passengers and crew of Flight 93, the victims in the Twin Towers, and all whose lives were cut short that day. We also remember and salute the first responders and service members who selflessly gave their lives in the line of duty, fighting to save others.

At Coral Springs Funeral Home, we stand with our community and our nation. We will never forget.
