We’re fully committed to our mission of raising awareness about the importance of having on-site security in every school. This week, our COO Zeev Fragachan was invited to speak as a School Security Expert, sharing key insights on how to stay safe during active shooter situations and how our team is trained to de-escalate threats and protect learning environments. He appeared on KHOU 11, Univision, La Prensa, and Blaze Media.

Today 51 years ago to the Maalot massacre. 28 dead, most of them students from Safed High School. Terrorists from the "Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine" infiltrated from Lebanon in an area that was not fenced, infiltrated Ma'alot, and took over the "Nativ Meir" school where Safed children were sleeping on an annual trip.

In those days, the security guards for the trips did not carry their weapons on them, but posted a guard with the weapons outside the building. The terrorists intended to wait for the students to arrive in the morning, but found about 100 students sleeping in the building.

They demanded the release of 20 of their friends imprisoned in Israel.

During the day, negotiations were allegedly conducted with the terrorists, and preparations were made by Sayeret Matkal for a breakout. Under the direction of Defense Minister Moshe Dayan.The rescue operation failed, and 22 students were murdered.

In the wake of the terrible event, many perceptions changed. The Oketz Unit, the YAMM, and the Civil Guard were established. And in the Ministry of Education, the unit for approving and coordinating trips. And the travel security guidelines were changed.
