It’s never too late to start vision therapy!

Thanks to neuroplasticity, when we learn a new skill, the brain builds new neural pathways to help us strengthen this skill and continues to adapt and change throughout our lives. If you have had years of unexplained migraines, poor concentration, or reading problems, a functional vision evaluation is still possible. Call our practice to learn more about our vision therapy program— you’ll be amazed at the results!

Diabetics are susceptible to developing cataracts (a clouding of the eye’s lens) earlier in life. https://www.roggyeyeclinic.com/eye-care-services/

People with diabetes are about 50% more likely to develop glaucoma, an eye disease that causes damage to the optic nerve. It can be detected by an increase of eye pressure in the eye. Macular edema (and macular degeneration) are common in diabetics because of a malfunctioning of the blood vessels in the inner region of the retina which is responsible for sharp and clear vision. Most commonly, diabetes can cause diabetic retinopathy. Diabetic retinopathy is an eye disease that affects the blood vessels in the very important retina. If you have diabetes, you should talk to your eye doctor about the risk and likelihood of certain eye diseases.

Did you know that snails have very poor vision? Though they have a lens on their eyes, they're lacking the muscles needed to focus on images. They can sense light and dark, they cannot see color. As a result, they rely more on their other senses to get around. One super cool thing about snails, though, is that if they lose an eye they can simply grow one back! 🐌
