Today's tip focuses on strategies to target left neglect. Left neglect is defined as a neurological condition, usually from a right hemisphere stroke, causing lack of awareness or attention to the left side of the body or environment. Compensatory strategies for left neglect focus on retraining attention to the neglected side using visual scanning techniques (guides, head turns) and environmental modifications (placing items on the left side, colorful cues). These strategies help to improve independence with self care and activities of daily living.
