☀️🔥 Sunburn may fade but the damage lasts forever!

While the sun offers an abundance of health benefits such as vitamin D production, enhanced mood, and regulating your sleep schedule, it also comes with risks and consequences of overexposure!

Overexposure of the sun and UV rays are linked to sunburn (of varying degrees), skin cancer, and premature aging. 🆘

The best way to approach sun exposure is with balance! ⚖️

Follow these tips to stay sun-safe:
☀️ wear a broad spectrum spf 30+
☀️ reapply every 2 hours
☀️ wear a wide brimmed hat
☀️ avoid peak UV hours
☀️ wear sun protective clothing
☀️ stay shaded when outside

From a medical standpoint, just one blistering sunburn more than doubles a chance of developing melanoma later in life. Melanoma is a very serious form of skin cancer, as it can spread to other parts of the body if not treated early. If you have a new mole or an existing one that is changing rapidly, has irregular borders, or is a-symmetrical, it is so important to see a dermatologist for a skin exam! 🔍👩🏻‍⚕️
