Dr. Mackey is a board certified eye surgeon who graduated from the University of Louisville school of medicine with high honors. He then completed strenuous surgical training at Georgetown University hospital in Washington, DC before becoming board certified in 2004. Mackey Vision Center also is known for high quality eyewear and operates an optical boutique on Falls Highway in Corbin, KY.

WEATHER UPDATE!

Due to inclement weather, Mackey Vision Center's South office on the Cumberland Falls Hwy will be closed today - Monday, January 26th.

Mackey Vision Center's North office on Commonwealth Ave will be opening at 10:30am on Monday, January 26th.

If you have an appointment scheduled at our South Office, you will now be seen at our North Office.

If you have a scheduled appointment before 10:30am, a member of our team will contact you to reschedule.

Exciting News from Mackey Vision Center!

We are proud to be the first practice in Kentucky to offer a new, cutting edge treatment for our glaucoma patients.

Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) has been around for many years offering patients a lowering of intra-ocular pressure as an alternative to drops. However, the procedure has required direct contact with the eye and has had to be done manually. This takes several minutes to perform and requires patients to be very still while having a lens in direct contact with their eye.

Direct Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (DSLT) is a new way to do this laser procedure that requires no direct contact with the eye and can be done in only a few seconds. This new technology is just now available in the United States and Dr. Mackey was lucky enough to be the first eye surgeon in Kentucky to perform this procedure yesterday in clinic.
