Cumberland Valley Chiropractic

Cumberland Valley Chiropractic Dr. Sheri F. Bingham, formerly Dr. Bunch, and her staff offer a hands-on approach to health care. We are now offering weight loss services.

Our chiropractic office offers traditional "hands-on" chiropractic adjustments, as well as lower force adjusting techniques. Additionally, we offer Flexion-Distraction, which is a technique that has been very successful when treating disc herniations in the lower back and sciatica. We have a variety of therapies, such as ultrasound, traction, and e-stim to enhance the healing process. We try to offer all of our patients tips and exercises they can use at home to speed up the healing process.

Heel pain with every step? 👣⚡

Plantar fasciitis—irritation of the thick band of tissue on the bottom of your foot—is one of the most common causes of heel pain. It can make walking, running, or even standing feel painful.

The good news: chiropractic care can help! With foot and ankle adjustments, soft tissue therapy, and guided rehab exercises, we can reduce pain and improve mobility so you can move comfortably again. 🏃‍♀️

What’s the best exercise combo for older adults with back pain? 💡

A study found that trunk muscle strengthening helps, but combining it with aerobic exercise delivers bigger wins—less pain, better function, lower fall risk, and improved mood.

So, resistance exercise builds stability, but moving your heart amplifies results, too. Call our office today so we can help you get started! 📞

How many steps should you aim for each day? ✨

A review of 57 studies shows ~7,000 steps/day = major health benefits:
🔹 Risk of death decreases nearly 50%
🔹 Lower risk of heart disease, dementia, depression, and diabetes
🔹 Even cancer & falls showed improvement

The old “10,000 steps” goal is great, but 7,000 is realistic and impactful!

Have hip pain? It might not just be your hip. 🦴

Sometimes hip pain (like hip impingement, when the joint doesn’t move smoothly) shows up along with problems in the low back or the SI joint—the joint that connects your spine and pelvis. Researchers found:

🔹 Many people with hip issues also have SI joint problems
🔹 Spine problems can sometimes cause hip changes too
🔹 Having both hip and back issues can make recovery slower

👉 Takeaway: Hip pain and back pain often go hand-in-hand. If your hip keeps bothering you, it’s worth checking the whole picture. Call our office today to schedule your appointment! 📞

Ever since a Spectrum Update on Thursday, we are having issues with our Voicemail. It may take them up to 72 hours to get it fixed. If we don't answer, it's because we are either with a patient or on the other phone line with a patient. We apologize for this inconvenience. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.

We will be open tonight until 7 pm. Then we will return on Wednesday at 9 am.

Thank you.

Migraines can feel impossible to manage, but a combined treatment approach works best!

A new clinical trial found that education, hands-on care, and exercise each help—but when you combine them, patients get the strongest and longest-lasting results. 🙌

Migraines often need a multi-pronged approach. Learn more from our infographic here. https://bit.ly/3PZHQwy

🧩 Did you know your shoulder pain isn’t just about your shoulder?

Frozen shoulder happens when the shoulder becomes stiff, painful, and hard to move. Researchers found that people with frozen shoulder often face:

🔹 Less confidence in handling pain → more daily struggles
🔹 More worry and fear of movement → worse pain and stiffness
🔹 Higher body weight → slower recovery

The takeaway: mind and body matter. Addressing both gives the best chance to regain mobility and ease pain.

Struggling with shoulder pain? Call our office today or schedule an appointment! 📞

📱 More screen time = higher health risks!

Kids and teens who spend lots of time on screens have a greater risk of future heart and metabolic issues—especially if they aren’t getting enough sleep.

Family reminder: less screen, more sleep, more movement! 💛

No shows are becoming a problem again. We know that sometimes things happen and you can't keep your scheduled appointment, but we ask that you PLEASE call us at 606-526-8856 AS SOON AS YOU KNOW that you won't be able to make it. And to limit forgetting about your appointment, please put an alarm in your phone as a reminder.

We send appointment text reminders the day before the appointment and email reminders the day of the appointment. I'm not sure what else we can do to help you remember an appointment that you scheduled. PLEASE put an alarm in your phone to remind you a couple of hours, an hour, or whatever timing works best for you, so that you remember to come in for your appointment.

You know how frustrating it is when you call to get scheduled and you might have to wait a few days because our schedule is full? If patients that have scheduled appointments but won't be able to keep it call us ahead of time, we are able to work you in sooner. And if you put an alarm in your phone, you are less likely to forget a scheduled appointment.

Please, please, please remember that next time you aren't going to make it in.

Thank you for reading this (hopefully) friendly Public Service Announcement!
