Regular cleaning is essential to keep your Phonak RIC hearing aid performing its best and to extend its life. Here’s a step-by-step guide:

🛠️ What You’ll Need:
A soft, dry cloth or microfiber towel
A cleaning brush (with wax loop if available)
A wax guard replacement tool (if needed)
A drying kit or dehumidifier (optional but highly recommended)
✅ Daily Cleaning Steps:
Wipe the Hearing Aid
Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe down the body of the hearing aid and the receiver wire. Avoid using water or alcohol-based cleaners.
Clean the Dome
If your Phonak RIC has a soft dome, gently pinch and wipe it to remove wax. You can also detach the dome (if you’re comfortable) and clean underneath.
Brush the Microphone Ports
Use a soft brush to clean the microphone openings on the main part of the hearing aid. This removes dust, oils, and hairspray residue.
Check and Replace the Wax Guard
Under the dome is a small white wax guard. If it looks clogged or discolored, replace it using the Phonak wax guard tool.
Insert the removal side into the old guard, pull it out, flip the tool, and insert the new guard.
