Well, Hopper Physical Therapy, that’s a wrap.

I opened my business in May 2003. Spent the last 22 years providing physical therapy to some wonderful patients, many I will always remember. I had the best co-workers, and seriously never dreaded going to work. However making it as a small, solo provider business in healthcare is very difficult these days. So I closed my clinic in 2022, transitioning to providing mobile PT in patients’ homes, which I also enjoyed.

However in 2025, my priorities needed to shift, due to some family members needing me more than my work schedule would allow. So I cut my schedule way back and saw only a few patients this year.

And now I have decided to completely close down my business, to continue as a full time caregiver.

I want to thank every patient that I had the opportunity to work with through the years. I will miss my job and helping people regain their function and getting back to their lives. It’s been my passion for the last 34 years.

I’m not certain what my future holds professionally, and I may re-emerge at some point down the road for another chapter of physical therapy. Time will tell. But for now, I’m where I need to be.

“I want to say what a true treasure we have in Marcee Hopper Robinson for physical therapy. I had a total knee replacement on May 1st, which was done by a different surgeon than I have had in the past. To make a long story short, he messed up, I couldn’t bend my knee and three physical therapists agreed there was a major problem. I had to go through another surgical procedure on June 19th and Marcee came to my house that afternoon and began the process of getting me back on my feet!!

She knew I was worried and scared about the possibility of not being able to use my knee/leg properly again so she kept reassuring me that she was making me her “project” and we were going to keep at it until it was right again.

So with my house looking like a P.T. Clinic we got to it and after 3 months of intense work on her part and mine, I can say I can walk naturally without a limp and my knee bends to the degree that it did before the surgery!

She refused to give up and refused to let me give up. Even though there were many times I was ready to just throw in the towel and forget it!! She’s the best and I’m forever grateful to have had her expertise and patience available to me. Love you Marcee!”

I hear the story all too often in my job (two just today) of one of our seniors who lives alone, suffers a fall, is unable to get up from the floor, is seriously injured, and cannot get help sometimes for hours and sadly for maybe even a day or two.

A lot of people use a life alert device or try to keep their phones with them, but inevitably seems when there is a fall, these things are often out of reach or forgotten.

I tell my patients and their families, that placing a few Alexa Echo devices through the house, will allow the person to voice activate an emergency call for help or their emergency contacts. An easy solution that could prevent some big problems.

Following 2 cervical spine surgeries I had, 2006 and 2008, I have sought physical therapy multiple times and with multiple therapists. And I have seen Marcee many times, both in her clinic and most recently in my home. She is professional and effective; when she closed her facility she transitioned to home care for her patients. She assesses the patient and develops a treatment plan with the patient; she carries the appropriate equipment into the home and works with the individual to meet treatment goals. Chances are I will need physical therapy in the years to come due to the chronic nature of my condition; I will always turn to Marcee for her expertise, guidance, and holistic care."

*Is it hard for you or your loved one to get out of the house? Is transportation a problem?

*Would you prefer to have a one hour (or longer), one-on-one session with your therapist without being in a clinic full of other patients and distractions?

*Would you like to always have the same therapist at each session?

*Would you like to have a therapist with 33 years of experience to offer?

*Would you like ”old school” ways of doing things? I answer my own phone, do my own billing, do my own scheduling. I’m always a phone call or text away, if you need me.

*I bring in a treatment table and the necessary equipment and can do a full session just as if we were in a clinic.

*You do not have to be home-bound or qualify for “home health services” as my services are classified as “outpatient at home physical therapy”. I am not a home health agency.

*Insurances that cover my services: Traditional Medicare Part B, Railroad Medicare, Humana Medicare Advantage Plan, and VA Community Care.

I will have some openings in November, if you or a loved one is interested in a balance/vestibular rehab, fall-prevention program.

If you have had any falls with or without injury and notice that your balance isn’t what it used to be, this program can really help! The best time to address balance problems is as soon as you notice them!!

Congratulations to Kaylee Jade Bays on her acceptance to the Physician Assistant Program at The University of the Cumberlands!!

She’s our PT tech at Hopper Physical Therapy, LLC, a great friend to my children, and like another daughter to me. Our patients love her!

She’s worked very hard and was a little excited (and maybe a tad bit dramatic 😊) when she got the news this morning.
