Rounding out our fantastic new PGY-1 resident introductions is Alex Gardner! Originally from Colorado, Alex is an avid outdoors enthusiast who loves snowboarding, wakeboarding, mountain biking, and hiking. He's a proud alum of Kansas City University of Medicine and the University of Colorado at Boulder. Alex is looking forward to both furthering his medical education and embracing Southern living here with us. Give him a warm welcome!

We are thrilled to introduce Varoon Kakaiya, another one of our newest PGY-1 residents at CareConnect. 👋 Varoon grew up in rural Tennessee, later moved to Atlanta, and completed his medical education after studying Cell Biology at the University of Georgia. He chose CareConnect to be close to family and to help tackle the unique healthcare challenges in underserved communities. Outside of the clinic, you might find Varoon playing chess, hiking, swimming, or diving into video games! We're so excited to have him join our team!

Omid, originally from the UK, has called Northern Virginia home for the past 13 years. When he's not dedicating time to his studies, you'll find him enjoying adventures with his two dogs: a 13-month-old German Shepherd and a 5-year-old Pit Lab mix! He also has a passion for exploring new cities and immersing himself in different cultures.

Omid shares, 'I'm really excited to be part of the CareConnect team and look forward to contributing to the community in a meaningful way.'

Originally from Fayetteville, GA, Akshay is an avid outdoorsman who loves camping trips (both local and global!). When he's not exploring, you can find him at home, cooking and diving into different cuisines from around the world.
