Taking a leap forward: Today I decided to confront my fear of sharing videos publicly head-on. Something I've never dared to do before, it triggers my social anxiety and perfectionism. Yet, having committed to it last week, I pushed aside script and makeup, recorded it on a whim, and now it's going live. The real challenge begins now - resisting the urge to obsess over it, critique every detail, or seek validation through comments. Next Friday might bring another attempt, and with it, new lessons and growth. For now, I'm embracing the triumph and wishing you all a fantastic weekend, my friends!

I love her video series. They really highlight how subtle and powerful ocd really is. Roping family and friends into compulsions with us only makes icd more powerful. Recovery happens when everyone is involved in the process together.

Be armed with the facts in order to fully support your anxious child.

It takes the body time to calm — not just a few deep breaths.

When a child is overwhelmed, their nervous system can take 20–60 minutes to fully settle after a surge of stress hormones. That’s why calm can’t be rushed. They need safety, patience and connection — not pressure to “get over it.”

Understanding this is at the heart of brain-based parenting. Regulation isn’t instant; it’s built through co-regulation and trust.

This also demonstrates why a child needs longer than 5 minutes out of class after an incident.
