Our Memory Care residents had such a wonderful time on their scenic drive this week! During the ride, we happened to pass one of our resident’s former home and even spotted her old neighbor! She was so proud to see how beautiful her house still looks after all these years. She even shared some great advice with us on how to pay off a 30-year mortgage in just 17 years! What a special and heartwarming moment for everyone. 💛

Our very own Velma Lois Jones, a lifelong Memphian, educator, and civil rights leader, made history as the first Black and longest-serving President of the Tennessee Education Association and the first woman to lead the NAACP Memphis Branch.

She has also served in leadership roles with Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and LeMoyne-Owen College.

Velma is an honoree for the National Civil Rights Museum’s 34th Freedom Award — a true trailblazer and inspiration to all.

We want to start the morning by extending a heartfelt thank you to our amazing maintenance team for organizing a wonderful fishing trip for our memory care residents yesterday .

Although the fish weren’t biting much, the residents truly enjoyed the beautiful weather, the peaceful waters, and the relaxing atmosphere. It was a perfect outing that brought smiles and serenity to everyone involved!

A special thank you as well to Libbi from Collierville for joining us as an extra pair of eyes and capturing such beautiful photos of the day. Your support and presence meant a lot!

Today was a joyful day in Memory Care as we celebrated the wonderful Ms. Susan’s birthday! Residents and staff came together to enjoy delicious pizza, cake, and lots of laughter. It was a heartwarming celebration filled with smiles, music, and great fun.
