Dr. Lori Schneider is proud to announce the expansion of her neurology practice into Lakeside Neurology & Wellness Center. Dr. Schneider is a board-certified adult neurologist and acupuncturist who has owned and operated a private neurology practice in Cornelius, NC, since 1994.
Dr. Schneider received her medical degree from New York University School of Medicine and completed her neurology residency at the Albert Einstein School of Medicine in New York.

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) is an ancient health and wellness system used in China for thousands of years. Western medicine focuses mainly on treating diseases, while TCM is more holistic, focusing on a person's overall well-being. The two central tenets of TCM focus on Qi (Chi) and Yin and Yang. Qi is also known as life energy or vital energy, which runs throughout our bodies along meridian pathways, nourishing the body's cells, tissues, muscles, and organs. There are twelve Principal Meridians, with each meridian extending along the arms or legs, connecting multiple acupuncture points, and corresponding to either a hollow or solid organ.
When Qi becomes disrupted, it can harm a person's health. Usually, when a blockage or imbalance occurs, the body quickly bounces back, returning to a state of health and well-being. Yin and Yang are opposites that describe the qualities of Qi. Yin encompasses night, dark, cold, feminine, and negative. Yang encompasses day, light, warm, positive, and male. According to TCM, everything in life has a bit of its opposite, and the goal is to balance the Yin and Yang of Qi to promote good health.
