Struggling with dry, irritated eyes?
Radiofrequency (RF) therapy might be the relief you've been looking for — especially if your dry eye is linked to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD).

Here’s what RF does:
- Gently Heats the Eyelids: RF uses safe, controlled radio waves to heat the skin around your eyes, targeting the meibomian glands inside your eyelids.
- Melts Thick Oil Blockages: The heat liquefies hardened oils stuck in the glands, helping restore healthy oil flow to your tears — essential for keeping eyes moist and comfortable.
- Improves Gland Expression: After heating, we can gently express the glands more effectively, clearing out blockages and improving function.
- Boosts Circulation & Collagen: As a bonus, RF stimulates collagen production and blood flow in the area, which can improve eyelid health and reduce inflammation over time.
- Comfortable, Non-Invasive, No Downtime: Most patients describe it as a warm massage — soothing, quick, and with no recovery time needed.

✨ If your eyes constantly feel dry, gritty, or tired - ask if RF therapy is right for you! Request an appointment with Monocle Eye Care today!

What Does IPL Do for Dry Eye?
If you suffer from chronic dry eye, especially due to meibomian gland dysfunction (MGD), you might have heard about Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) therapy. But what exactly does it do?

Here’s how IPL helps relieve dry eye:
- Targets Inflammation: IPL emits pulses of light that pe*****te the skin and reduce inflammation around the eyelids — a major contributor to dry eye symptoms.
- Improves Meibomian Gland Function: It helps unclog and stimulate the meibomian glands, which produce the oily layer of your tears. This oil keeps your tears from evaporating too quickly.
- Reduces Bacteria & Demodex: IPL can reduce bacterial overgrowth and Demodex mites, which often worsen dry eye and eyelid inflammation.
- Shrinks Abnormal Blood Vessels: It treats tiny, abnormal blood vessels (telangiectasia) that contribute to inflammation in the eyelid margin.
- Long-Term Relief: With a series of treatments, many patients experience lasting relief from dry, gritty, irritated eyes.

Did You Know? Dry Eye is More Common Than You Think 👁️
Dry eye is a condition where your eyes don’t make enough tears, or the tears they do make don’t work properly. Tears are important because they keep your eyes moist, comfortable, and healthy. When you don’t have enough good-quality tears, your eyes can feel dry, irritated, or tired.
Even though it’s called “dry eye,” it can actually cause your eyes to water more than usual. That’s because your eyes may try to make up for the dryness by producing extra tears—just not the kind your eyes need for proper moisture.

Common Symptoms:
- Burning or stinging sensation
- Redness, irritation, or watery eyes
- Feeling like something is in your eye
- Blurred vision, especially after reading or screen time
- Sensitivity to light

Why Does It Happen?
- Dry eye can be caused by:
- Age-related tear changes
- Screen overuse (yes, digital eye strain!)
- Certain medications or medical conditions
- Environmental factors like wind or dry air

What We Do to Help!
- Artificial tears (lubricating drops)
- Prescription eye drops
- Warm compresses and eyelid cleansing
- Nutraceuticals such as Omega-3 supplements
- Intense Pulsed Light
- Radiofrequency
- Zest Procedure
- Amniotic Membranes
- Autologous Serum Eye Drops

Your eyes deserve comfort.
If you're experiencing persistent dryness or irritation, don’t ignore it—it might be time for a check-up.

Book an eye exam today and take the first step toward relief!
