It is the energy moving through the growing trees, the flying birds, your pumping heart, your expanding lungs, the reach of the senses, and all of the workings of the mind—thoughts, emotions, and so on. It is the force behind our ability to move, connect, and communicate with one another💫

Prana within us lies in the layer of being between the physical body and layers of mind, or pranamaya. This layer holds together the layers of body and mind and allows them to move and work together.

Meditation is simply allowing your focus to rest on one object of attention, and there are many different ways to do this. Although, just like any other form of nourishment, it only helps if you do it💕

So, finding a practice that works for you is key. The practice of meditation shared within this book is derived from the yoga tradition with primary focus on teachings from The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, the principles of Raja Yoga and its eight limbs of practice, and the study of the koshas.

My goal is to offer these teachings in an accessible, tangible way to enable you to deeply nourish yourself and feel more balanced, peaceful, and at ease in your life. Through these concepts and practices, you can establish a daily routine of nurturing your whole being—body, mind, and soul🪷

When we strengthen the body through exercise, we start to feel stronger throughout the rest of the day... Similarly, when we are able to soften tension, release distractions, and focus during meditation, we become able to do this with more ease throughout our day💫

This ability does not start and end with practice; this is just where we learn to do it. What we experience in our practice we can also cultivate in our lives❣️

Through practicing on the cushion, we also learn how to notice sources of imbalance and care for each aspect of ourselves in every moment of our everyday lives.
