Hi All, Here is the year-to-date vision screening report for CA1. FYI the "undistricted" category includes single districts. As you can see there are a significant number of areas not reporting. If you are having trouble reporting, please contact me so I can help. Remember reporting to the Lions KidSight database is not the same as reporting on the Lions Portal. BOTH MUST BE DONE. The KidSight database records OUTCOMES not just events. LCI and LCIF are committed to documenting the outcomes of our service efforts. As we approach the end of the Lions' year please update your data.

Lions KidSight USA is awarded the “Champion for Vision Award” by the Children’s Eye Foundation of the American Association for Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus (AAPOS). This recognition is a tribute to the great work each of you has done to advance the mission of children’s vision screening. Over the years Lions have averaged about 2 million children screened per year with an average of 15% referral rate. Your efforts have made a huge difference in the lives of hundreds of thousands of children. As Chairman of Lions KidSight USA, I thank you for the support you have shown for this program and our mission. It is my honor to be the chair of this great team and accept this recognition.

The Corning Lions have been busy doing children’s vision screening. The LionsUSA Lions United Vision Days week of January 12-19 in honor of Melvin Jones birthday was particularly active. We screened about 200 kids with 48 referrals.

PID Dr. Ed & Lion Gail Cordes travelled to District A-711, Canada to teach Lions KidSight children’s vision screening certification. It was an extremely productive event. The Lions will establish a new vision screening program. Many great new friends were made. DG Julian Austin and Lion Conrad Semple organized a wonderful, successful event.
