I’ve had this yarn for 4 years, in a box, waiting to be used. I got it with the intention of completing this blanket: “The Burrow Blanket” from the Harry Potter Crochet Wizardry book by Lee Sartorial. Now I’m starting and I get to make 168 mini granny squares. Wahoo!

I went to the store to color match with paints and also grabbed fabric medium so that my acrylic paint could be more like fabric paint and permanent. I had to add multiple coats so, while one section was drying, I worked on another. I added a caramelly brown as a base to every section when I was mixing colors on my palette and it helped unify everything. Then I shaded to add dimension and put metallic copper in her eyes for pop. After it was all done, I sprayed it with acrylic paint sealer multiple times for extra security.

Now that Christmas is over, I can reveal a big project I worked on. I had my youngest brother for our sibling gift exchange for Christmas and I decided to paint his dog on the back of a jean jacket. Please note, just because this turned out awesome, I do not plan on adding items like this to my sellable repertoire. I had fun doing this but it was a lot of work, haha.

I had him give me a picture and then I put it through a program to exaggerate the gradient. Then I traced the sections with strong color differences, copied the new traced image on to cardstock, cut out the sections, and traced them on to the jacket like a stencil.

A big announcement! All printables that were once located at my Etsy shop, CraftedRichs, have now been relocated to their own shop, MeganRichPrintables. Link in bio. My printables weren't really crochet related or attracting the right customers when linked to my crochet items so, to clear up the clutter, I've moved them to their own special place.

I've also listed a new editable printable, a visual Kid Packing List. I use it with my own kids and it helps take the workload off of me to get all 8 of us packed. I give them this sheet filled out with what they need to pack, a duffel, and a dry erase marker. Then see what they are expected to pack and they can check off the items themselves. It's even worked for my 4 year old.

All of my 2026 commission spots are gone. Thank you for those that reached out! I might have more that open up next year...
