Do you look for the Non-GMO label when you shop?

Someone sent me these photos and asked how the Non-GMO Project label can be on products with garbage ingredients like this...

It can be infuriating and there is confusion about what this label really means, so here's the truth. The Non-GMO label only indicates that a product is made without genetically modified (GMO) ingredients - and that is all.

It does not mean that it is healthy. It does not mean that it won't contain artificial ingredients. I does not mean that it is organic. It does not mean that pesticides weren't used. It does not mean that it contains real food. And that is why heavily processed products such as this one can have this label.

Instead of just looking for the non-GMO label, look at the ingredient list on every product you buy. This is how you will see what you are really buying. If you don't know what an ingredient is or why it is used - it's probably not made with real food - so put it down and walk far, far away.
