If you want to see a heart-warming story, watch this piece called “Bringing Dorothy Home” by WWLTV in New Orleans. Through tenacious reporting and with the help of several organizations, Dorothy Taquino, a victim of Hurricane Katrina, has been identified after 20 years. There is still a little red tape to get through, but Dorothy will finally be laid to rest at St. Bernard Memorial Gardens, where her headstone has been since she pre-planned her own arrangements in 1988. For the past two decades, Dorothy has been interred at the Hurricane Katrina Memorial, one of 30 people who were unidentified after the massive storm that devastated Louisiana in 2005.
