Here’s another unsightly bulge that can be seen between the eyelids on the outer corner of the right eye. Swipe ⬅️ to see a close up view. Unlike the bulge from a prior post, this one is from fat that has moved outward onto the eyeball 👁️ The fat moving outward is not only cosmetically unappealing but can block your vision or even prevent the eyelids from closing if big enough. What is causing that unsightly bulge on the outer part of the eyelids? Swipe ⬅️ to see the view from the inside during surgery. That pink structure is the lacrimal gland or tear gland where your tears are produced💧Sometimes the gland can become enlarged or move forward or downward from where it’s supposed to be located. When the gland moves out of position, we see it as a bulge in the outer part of the upper eyelid. Surgery can be performed either alone or with an upper blepharoplasty to move the gland back into place. Stay tuned for this patient’s photos after surgery 👀

Check out our patient just 1 week after upper eyelid blepharoplasty🫶 Everyone heals differently, she had hardly any bruising or swelling and went back to work just 2 days after surgery.
