-Total Nail Avulsion: In more severe cases or for recurrent ingrown toenails, Dr. Haupt may recommend removing the entire nail to prevent future issues.
-Nail Matrixectomy: This surgical procedure involves permanently preventing the ingrown toenail from recurring by destroying the portion of the nail matrix responsible for nail growth.
-In cases where conservative measures for ingrown toenail treatment in Anaheim and Newport Beach are ineffective or if the ingrown toenail is severe, Dr. Haupt may recommend surgical intervention.

Dr. Bryant Mercado earned a dual Bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Irvine, where he graduated cm laude and received special recognition for multidisciplinary study. He went on to complete the Pre-Health Post Baccalaureate Program at Chapman University in Orange, CA, and earned his medical degree from the prestigious Temple University in Philadelphia, PA.

Afterward, Dr. Mercado completed a rigorous residency program at the renowned St. Luke’s University Health Network in Allentown, PA, where he served as Chief Resident during his final year. He received extensive training in Wound care/Limb Salvage, Orthoplastics, Trauma with Internal and External Fixation, Elective Forefoot/Rearfoot surgery, Nerve Releases, and Sports Medicine.
