Corona del Mar is filled with remarkable neighbors, and this month we’re honored to feature one whose life reflects service, faith, family, and deep community roots.
Meet Dr. Jeffrey I. Barke—physician, professor, podcaster known to many as “America’s Real Doctor,” and most importantly, a devoted father, grandfather, and neighbor.
From his podcast studio and exam room at Personal Concierge Physicians to four generations gathered together and quiet evenings at home with his beloved cats Larry and Winston, Jeff’s story is grounded in purpose. After more than 30 years in medicine, his commitment remains simple but powerful: protect the doctor-patient relationship and care for people with time, attention, and compassion.
A proud Trojan and UC Irvine-trained physician, former U.S. Army Reserve Medical Corps officer, SWAT tactical physician, and founder of Orange County Classical Academy, Jeff has always stepped in where help is needed. Yet when you see him around town or at church, what stands out most is his approachability and heart for others.
Though his voice now reaches a national audience, his heart remains right here in Corona del Mar—serving neighbors and helping families live healthier, more intentional lives.
