Complete the Webster certification. This was such an eye opening experience, I am grateful to have learned from such an inspiring and talented doctor, Dr. Stone. I can’t wait to share this information and apply these techniques with current and future pregnant patients.

For those that do not know, the Webster technique is a gentle and safe chiropractic technique designed to care for pregnant women to support proper pelvic biomechanics which allows for optimal and ideal birthing conditions 👶while lessening discomfort and pain during pregnancy🤰.

Did you know that your head makes up 6% of your body weight? On average your head weights about 12 lbs. Day in and day out our neck muscles have to work hard to keep our head upright. Well what happens when you look at your phone multiple times a day or stare at your computer all day, your neck slowly starts to shift forward. Prolong periods of time in this “forward neck posture” can change the curvature of your neck, and lead to a cascade of other biomechanical changes leading to rounded shoulders and slouching. Studies have shown that for every inch that your head shifts forward this increases your head weight by 10 lbs! This puts a lot of stress on our joints, muscles and other tissues which consequently leads to pain and reducing range of motion. Some common conditions linked to poor posture are brachial plexus disorder, SICK scapula (scapular dysfunction), subacromial impingement, headaches, trigger points, and disc disorders including disc displacement and arthritis.
If you feel like this applies to you, simple postural exercises can help combat this problem. Try doing chin tucks/ neck retractions (making a double chin) throughout the day, this will help strengthen your deep neck flexors to help restore that normal curvature of your neck. Also, chiropractic adjustments can help with increasing range of motion and activating those neck muscles that are turned off to help with improving your posture. Please consult with your doctor if you require any additional information, and if you’re interested the information from this post is from the article ‘Association Between Forward Head, Rounded Shoulders, and Increased Thoracic Kyphosis: A Review by Singla and Veqar 2017.

Now that I have an actual professional headshot taken, I can finally formally introduce myself. Hi there! My name is Shirley Aaron and I am the associate chiropractor at Inner Qi Wellness Center. People always ask me why I became a chiropractor so I will tell you my mini story here. I was raised in Canada for most of my life. While being in school, I quickly learned that my passion was in the sciences. I knew I wanted to work in the medical field since it allowed me to further my knowledge in the sciences as well as help others. I stumbled upon this amazing career from a close friend of mine who is a talented chiropractor. After witnessing what she could do with her hands and the vast knowledge she knew about the human body, I knew this was what I wanted to do. I was astounded with the ability to heal people with just our hands. After finishing my schooling in Canada, I moved to California to attend Southern California University of Health Sciences, where I earned my doctorate in Chiropractic as well as earned the Valedictorian award. Upon graduating I got a job at Inner Qi Wellness Center in Corona where I get to work among other talented practitioners daily, and that brings me to where I am today.
My treatment involves diversified manual adjustment along with myofascial work, including instrument assisted soft tissue and resistant stretching, and active care. I always send patients home with exercises since I believe that active care is the most powerful tool to healing and achieving a healthier lifestyle. My goal with treatment is to get patients out of pain to return to the things they love to do as well as motivate and help them to incorporate more active activities in their life to maintain a long and healthy life. If you would like to learn more about what I do please feel free to reach out to me!
In the meantime stay active, stay healthy folks! -SA💗

Have you ever seen a hypervolt or any other percussive tool in action and wonder what it does and how it helps? Well today I am going to discuss the benefits of the hypervolt shown in action in the video.
recently started going back to the gym and like any human being when we take a break from working out and start pumping metal again we feel that oh so good soreness for the next couple of days. The hypervolt is great tool for reducing soreness by increasing circulation into the area, thus helps flush out the lactic acid to reduce muscular soreness💪. It is also great at loosening up those stubborn tight and knotted muscles that bothers us on a daily basis. The hypervolt can be used statically but better when used with motion to block pain pathways and activate mechanoreceptors to help turn on inhibited muscles. The result will reduce pain, increase range of motion and improve performance overall🙌!
If you would like to give this a try, we are having a Health Happy Hour event at on September 17, 2019 at 5PM-7PM come on by and try it for free! Yes FREE🎉! Please feel free to call us at (951)428-4135 for further information.

A is a patient of mine. A gets regular muscle aches and pain from sitting all day at work and lifting weights at the gym. A loves to get cupping done on his back. Why you might wonder?
Cupping is a great passive modality to help muscle pains. The mechanism behind it is based on the suctioning of subatomospheric pressure at a local area to promote peripheral blood circulation. Increase in blood flow into the area helps with removing stagnant toxins and inflammatory agents, this in turn leads to reduction of perceived pain, stimulating proprioception, increasing your range of motion, and faster healing time. (Aboushanab, T., et al. 2018. Cupping Therapy: An Overview from Modern Medicine Perspective. JAMS.)
Although there is more research needed in the efficacy of cupping to further evaluate the mechanism of treatment, there is very little risk associated with it. Bruising is a common side effect from this due to the suction, which lasts anywhere from 3 days to a week depending on how easily you bruise.
If you are interested in getting cupping done you can discuss it with your physician or email/contact me for further information. If you would like to try it out, feel free to book an appointment with me at Inner Qi Wellness Center at (951)428-4135.
In the meantime stay active, stay health folks! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

Hi everyone! Thank you so much for stopping by this page and extra love to those that follow this page. My name is Shirley Aaron. As you know from my bio I am a full time chiropractor, dog-mom and the time I have left in between I strive in being active. This picture here captures one of the happiest days of my life; thus, I thought it would be cute as my first post, cheesy? I know, I am. I am currently one of the chiropractor at Inner Qi Wellness Center located in Corona, CA – come stop by if you are in the area!
As my first post I will tell you a story of how and why I became a chiropractor. It all started in undergrad while I was still in Toronto studying to be a Pharmacist – *Gasp* shocker, I know. All of my friends were going to pharmacy school so I thought I would just jump on the bandwagon as well. After getting denied into pharmacy school I decided to rethink my career choice, and heck, I hated chemistry! So I decided to find to new career path. I was convinced from a close friend of mine to check out what she did for a living, and of course as you guessed it, she’s a chiropractor - an amazing one that is! Because of her I fell in love with the profession. I knew I always wanted to help people for a living, but I didn’t know that I could do it literally with my bare hands. This propelled me into moving to California to chase my dreams in becoming a chiropractor and also finally closing the distance between me and that handsome man in that photo. I worked my a** off in school and achieved the Valedictorian award of my class and at the same time marrying the man of my dreams, and really the rest is history.
Nowadays I work at the clinic from Tuesday to Fridays and some Saturdays. My treatment protocol generally includes manual adjustment, soft tissue myofascial work, and active care. I know I may look tiny but I pack a mean punch, you can ask my husband he’ll vouch for me. On my spare time, I like to play with my little puppy and I am also a pro mahjong player. I try to hit the gym 3x a week to keep in shape because I try to practice what I preach. I created this page as a fun page to help educate others on daily lifestyle tips that includes exercise tips, health tips, and the occasional dog facts/posts. Thank you so much if you have read this far. Follow me and we can be friends! Meanwhile, stay active folks!
