Feeling helpless in supporting others who have sustained great trauma/loss? Here is a practical and effective tool to help people heal—be extra mindful to leave judgement and solutions at the door (it’s harder than it sounds!). Please please reach out for support! The impact of these recent fires are beyond what we as humans are capable of fathoming at this point. For those helping and supporting right now—Recovery is going to be a marathon with many many layers. The emotional recovery itself will be anything but linear. Right now we are somewhere between “impact” and “heroic”-I LOVE to see people stepping up, and yet the real deep lasting work is yet to come. Please have grace for yourself and others and seek connections with others as we continue to process this tragedy.
