Happy New Year! 🎆 2026! In addition to being more active on this page and engaging with y’all, my personal goal this year is to say no when I mean no. My plate is full and that’s ok. I’m not hurting feelings by saying no when I need or want to say no. Maybe is usually perceived as a yes, when we meant no without having to say it. That leads to a miscommunication and that miscommunication can lead to a fight or resentment.
What are your 2026 goals?

Are you ready for a new year? Us either, but here we are about to count down to 2026! Here at FAYS we understand new beginnings and the hype of resolutions, but that may be a daunting task. Let our family support specialists help your family create SMART goals in January to kick off a fresh new year.

As we creep up on the new year, it’s easy to feel like we didn’t accomplish anything on our 2025 to do list, but progress is slow and we need to work on celebrating the small successes!
If you aren’t sure where to start, our FAYS family support specialists will be back in office next week and we can utilize our Strengthening Families curriculum to help set your family up for a better 2026!

Happy Friday! Time for that post holiday nap for those with a day off and almost there for those who have to wait a bit longer. Remember rest is OK! One might even argue it’s necessary no matter your role in the family. We can’t pour from an empty cocoa mug!

We all need some extra positive vibes as we head into the break! The stress is setting in and the kids are restless with anticipation for 🎁. Routines are off and the pantry seems to have emptied out much quicker than before… This time of year is difficult and joyous. We can feel loved and frustrated simultaneously. Emotions are complex. If you find this holiday season has been a bit harder than years past on your family, reach out through our online referral. A FAYS family support specialist will contact you when offices open back up in 2026!

It’s officially break for all of our kiddos here in the Coastal Bend! We love the holiday season, but know it comes with some added stress and expectations. You may be feeling overwhelmed, anxious, obligated to be cheery, or a combination of emotions you can’t quite articulate. Those are all valid feelings as we end the year. Make sure to feel through them and evaluate what your body is telling you. That’s not always the easiest task, so if one of your New Year’s resolutions is to work on healthy communication, expression of feelings, or trying to get your kiddo to summer vacation without failing or dropping out, FAYS may be a good fit to help. Offices are closed 12/23-1/5, but you can still send in an online referral in that time and one of our festive family support specialists will reach out in 2026!!
