WELCOME COACH JOAQUIN 💪

We’re excited to introduce Joaquin Cordero as a Personal Trainer at Contender CrossFit. Welcome to the team, Coach Joaquin! 💪

Joaquin’s journey into fitness started with preparing for the military - pushing himself to be in the best shape possible. From there, he found powerlifting and became driven to constantly improve his strength and performance.

What he loves most about coaching is helping people achieve goals they once thought were out of reach! 🤩

His coaching “superpower” is his experience through every stage (being underweight, overweight, and in peak condition) allowing him to truly understand where people are starting and how to help them move forward! 🙌🏼

Favorite movement: Squats (he actually looks forward to leg day 😅)

Congratulations to our Athlete of the Month, Kade! 🎉

Since joining Contender, Kade has been a positive force in the gym. His attitude, consistency, and drive to improve have made him a great addition to our community.

Balancing military life with CrossFit and everything else in his day to day, Kade continues to show up ready to put in the work. No matter what is on his plate, he stays committed to getting better and making time for his fitness.

He brings great energy into every class, supports those around him, and embraces both the fun and the challenge that comes with each workout.

MEMORIAL DAY MURPH 🇺🇸

Join us Memorial Day, May 25, 2026 for the MURPH Challenge at Contender CrossFit! 🇺🇸

The Kids/Legends heat kicks off at 8 AM, followed by the National Anthem at 8:50 AM, and the Group Class heat at 9 AM. Please note, there will be no coach-led warm-up, so arrive early to warm up on your own!

The MURPH Challenge is a special workout in honor of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, who gave his life in service. It’s a demanding workout, but it’s our way to pay tribute and remember his sacrifice.

MURPH:
1 Mile Run
100 Pull Ups
200 Push Ups
300 Air Squats
1 Mile Run
*All performed wearing a 20/14 if you have one. The workout can be done solo or partitioned and scaled to your fitness level!

Let’s come together to honor a hero. We look forward to seeing all our Contenders there!
