Welcome to Self-Care Sunday!

It’s been a very long time since I last posted here. Recently, I’ve been having a bit of a difficult time with the political tensions, ongoing pandemic environment, and just life in general. I got to thinking that maybe some of you are having a difficult time these days and would like a soft place to land at least once a week.

I decided that I would dedicate some part of every Sunday to self-care. I’d love to hear/see how you are being good to yourself throughout the week! Please share how you are making self-care a priority these days.

I’ll leave you with this ridiculously hysterical picture of my self-care moment from this morning. I’ve been following Swavycurlycourtney’s curly girl method for caring for my hair over the last 3 weeks. This morning, I treated myself to a deep conditioning treatment. I haven’t been able to find a comfortable shower cap for this treatment, so what you see is my hair covered in conditioner inside a plastic H‑E‑B bag, with a towel wrapped the bag (to catch drips) and a heating pad tenting my head. I sat like this for 30 minutes while playing Animal Crossing totally guilt-free. It was a glorious way to begin my day! ✨💫✨

I hope that your Sunday has contained at least one moment of bliss. If it hasn’t, that’s okay- there is still time left for magic! Go catch the sunset, watch the birds fly home for the evening, or just give thanks for your loved ones. You deserve a special moment of magic today and everyday!
