From “bougie” to “basically lost our minds”

A Place for Speech had a wonderful time supporting our friends at the Choice Living Community at Bougie Bingo Saturday night. Jennifer Scott and such wonderful volunteers made the night so fun (even though we were big fat losers 🤣🤣)

Sunday, we laced up for the “Stride for Autism Acceptance 5k“ at Cole Park Pier. As the elder of the group, I participated in-person and vicariously through my children who actually killed this 5k and are ready for the next one.

Loved seeing friends we know support the wonderful community where we live. We are stronger, and more fun, together. Now— someone hand me my ice pack and Tylenol 🫠🤣

Thankful that my second job as a speech therapist allows me the flexibility and freedom to cherish these moments from my first job as a mom ❤️❤️. May your rolls always be buttered and your turkey always smothered in gravy.

Exciting news! To clarify, I have been asked for recommendations for a tutor to help a little friend. This is not an opening with APFS 🙂

I need recommendations for an exceptional person willing to learn principles of ABA in order to tutor a young child in the home setting for 2 to 3 hours a day. Pay to be determined between parent and tutor 🤓

🌟 Join us for the CCISD Transition Expo! 🌟
Families of students with disabilities (ECSE–12th grade) are invited to discover opportunities, connect with community organizations, and build a path to success for their child! 💙
🗓 Saturday, Nov. 8
🕙 10 a.m. – 1 p.m.
📍 Moody High School Cafeteria
The event will feature vendor booths, door prizes, and a panel discussion, all designed to help families learn about local resources and programs that support their child’s unique needs.
Open to the public — we hope to see you there! 🙌
