ATTENTION ALL COSMETOLOGY SCHOOLS

Through the years, I can’t even tell you how many frantic clients have come to me after being told by a cosmetologist or hairdresser that they had lice… only for me to do a thorough professional head check and discover it was simply dandruff or scalp buildup.

Being incorrectly told you have lice can be extremely embarrassing and emotionally stressful for a client. Unfortunately, many students are taught from textbooks and photos, but may not receive enough real hands-on experience identifying the difference between lice, nits, dandruff, dry scalp, and product buildup in person.

At The LICE ANGELS, our job is to educate, not shame. 💗

If you are a director or instructor at a cosmetology school, we would love to partner with you and provide educational training for your students. Proper education and hands-on experience can help prevent misdiagnosis and protect the confidence of clients while also helping future cosmetologists feel more confident in their skills.

Education matters. Compassion matters. And accuracy matters. 🎀

At The Lice Project FOUNDATION, our mission is not to compete with medical facilities or healthcare providers. Our goal is to help fill the gap for families in South Texas who may not have Medicaid, insurance coverage, or the financial ability to afford lice treatment services.

For over a decade through The Lice Angels🎀, we have seen firsthand how many children miss school, get bullied, and struggle emotionally because families simply cannot afford treatment. This nonprofit was created to help support those underserved families with compassion, education, and care.

We proudly support and encourage families with Medicaid coverage, including DRISCOLL HEALTH PLAN Medicaid, to continue utilizing their medical benefits and referral pathways through their healthcare providers. 🤍

Together, through community partnerships, education, and support, we can make a difference in the lives of children and families across South Texas. The Lice Project Foundation

After 10 years of serving thousands of families through The Lice Angels, we are proud to announce something truly groundbreaking for our community…

✨ THE LICE PROJECT FOUNDATION ✨
🪽 Texas’s VERY FIRST nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to helping families affected by head lice.

This is bigger than lice removal.
This is about:
✔️ Ending the stigma
✔️ Helping struggling families
✔️ Keeping children in school
✔️ Providing education & prevention
✔️ Supporting underserved communities
✔️ Bringing awareness to something families silently struggle with every single day

For years, families have battled embarrassment, bullying, missed school days, anxiety, and financial hardship because of head lice. Many parents simply cannot afford professional treatment or do not know where to turn for help.

We saw the need.
We lived the stories.
And now… we are taking action. 💕

The Lice Project Foundation was created to be a light for families across South Texas and eventually the entire state of Texas. This nonprofit will help provide education, community outreach, treatment assistance, and support to families who need it most.

❤️ How to Apply:
The Lice Project FOUNDATION was created to assist uninsured and underserved families in our community who may not otherwise have access to care. Families who are enrolled in Driscoll Health Plan Medicaid should continue using their existing benefits through The Lice Angels clinic by obtaining a referral from their P*P, as covered under our current partnership with Driscoll Health Plan. The nonprofit program is designed specifically for qualifying families without Medicaid coverage and operates separately from Driscoll Health Plan services. Applications are available in clinic.
